Abstract

Recently, one of the advanced welding technology being highly effective applications of technology that is semi-automatic welding in protective gas environment (MAG welding). However, the use of equipment, is especially as the adjustment of process parameters to ensure welding requirements on weld quality, had not been implemented. For new established vocational training institutions, the access to MAG welding technology is limited leads to expensive in training, the low quality of workmanship and also low economic efficiency.
In this study, evaluation of the welding technology parameters on weld quality was performed. The parameters of welding process were considered according to Taguchi’s orthogonal array such as the welding amperage, welding voltage and welding speed in order to verify their effects on the quality of welding process. The optimum case was finally confirmed by corresponding experiment
