Abstract

Pile knitted fabrics with the pore, soft and thick structure which are suitable for the thermo-isolated, soft applications. Pile looplength has important influence on the physico-mechanical fabric such as thickness, dimension stability, thermoisolate capacity and so relates on their application. This paper researched on the influence of pile looplength on the dimension change of the pile knitted fabric after washing cycles. Single pile knitted fabrics with four value of pile looplength of 7.58 mm; 7.88 mm; 8.03 mm and 8.37 mm had been prepared. The results showed that when the pile looplength increased the fabric thickness decreased with first three looplength values of 7.58 mm; 7.88 mm; 8.03 mm but it reached the maximum thickness of 2.45 mm with the pile looplength of 8.37 mm. The fabric dimension by course and wale were found a little changing after the washing cycles. Among, the fabric with pile looplength of 8.37 mm had the most dimension stability on both course and wale direction.
