OPTIMIZATION OF FORMING HEIGHT OF SPCC CYLINDRICAL CUP IN THERMAL-ASSISTED DEEP DRAWING
Abstract
In this paper, a numerical study investigated the effect of process parameters like blank holder force (FBH), punch corner radius (RP), and workpiece temperature (T) on forming height. The optimization problem for forming height was also solved. The appropriate parameters were then verified by experimentally the cylindrical cup stamping process, the deviation between simulation and experiment was 1.99 %. A highly accurate mathematical equation was built to estimate the forming height at different machining conditions, the maximum deviation between mathematical model and simulation was 4.9 %. These results can be used in predicting defects in simulating the deep stamping process of cylindrical cups with different materials.
