Abstract

Single knit fabric 100 % cotton is widely used in garments because of its many good technical properties. The fabric is usually light, soft, stretch, and has a high moisture absorption capacity, but dimensional stability is not high, resistance to wrinkles is low. Knitted fabric with spandex yarn will have improved elasticity, increase resistance to wrinkles suitable for yoga clothing products. This paper, we investigates the mechanical properties of single jersey knitted fabric with spandex yarn yarns in different proportions. Four samples of single jersey fabric are woven from CVC yarn (30/70 Polyester/Cotton), with the ratio of yarn installed spandex 15, 13, 7 and 5 respectively. The results show that, when the ratio of spandex yarn in the fabric is increased, the weft and warp density, fabric thickness, weight g/m2, weft stretch of the fabric all increase but the breathability of the fabric is reduced.
