Abstract

The article presents the prevalence of milling as a machining method for fabricating machine parts due to its exceptional productivity and versatility, especially for intricate components. The widespread use of CNC milling machines in manufacturing significantly contributes to the quality and quantity of machine parts across various sectors. The importance of research in enhancing milling machine parts for improved production efficiency and product quality is emphasized. The utilization of SKD61 steel, designated by the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS), is noted, with a growing trend in multiple industries. The study focuses on investigating the impact of cutting parameters (feed rate, cutting depth, spindle rotation speed) on surface roughness during the machining of SKD 61 steel using a CNC milling machine. Its aim is to develop a mathematical function to elucidate the relationship between these parameters and surface roughness and to optimize the cutting parameters. The study centers on machining flat surface components using SKD 61 steel on an X.MILL 700HS SI CNC milling machine, exploring a range of cutting mode parameters for suitability in the finishing machining mode.Top of FormBottom of Form.
