SOLUTION APPLYING PLASTIC ELEMENTS FROM TRADITIONAL THEATRE OPERA MASK INTO COSTUME DESIGN FOR YOUNG GIRLS

Abstract

In design, the works of art are formed by plastic elements such as: Lines, blacks and colour. One of the arts using plastic elements to be considered is the art of mask make – up in the traditional theatre opera. There have been a number of researchers on traditional theatre opera but none of them does research on applying plastic elements from mask in traditional theatre opera that forms the street costume for young girls, the author set up two pattern – making methods common to mask plastic element of traditional theatre opera. Through researchs on plastic elements of traditional theatre opera mask, combining in harmony with modern, free style, the arrangement of disposition is balanced and symetrical way of which plastic elements are manifested mainly by cloth joint technique
