EFFECT OF SPANDEX RATIO ON ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF WOVEN FABRICS MADE OF COTTON/SPANDEX CORE SPUN YARNS

Abstract

Woven fabric made of cotton-core spun yarn has been increasingly used in recent years due to its elasticity and comfortability, depending on the ratio spandex yarns in fabric. This paper presents the research results on the effect of the spandex ratio in the twill 2/1 woven fabric with 100 % cotton warp and cotton core spun yarn weft on elastic properties of fabric. As the weft density increases, the spandex ratio in the fabric increases, the weight g/m2 increases and the fabric structure changes. When the proportion of elastic fibers in the fabric increases, the stretch and elasticity of the fabric will be affected, especially in the horizontal of the fabric. This research is the scientific basis to design the textile technology parameters for the elastic cotton woven fabric in accordance with the design and size parameters of garment products.
