Abstract

This paper presents a solution to measure the vibration of the spur gear transmission in the experimental device for reducing vibration of gear transmission by using damping particles. The vibration of gear transmission system is reduced based on collision of the damping particles in the technological holes designed on the gear itself. The vibration value is determined by the acceleration sensor 352C03 PCB located at the rolling bearings mounted on the pinion and driven shafts in the gravity and radial directions. The sensor signal is acquired by the Simcenter Scadas XS data acquisition system and LMS Smart Scope measurement software. Acceleration measured results are processed by SimCenter TestLab software. The experimental results accurately reflect the vibration of the gear system and show that, when using the damping particles, the value of system’s acceleration is reduced by 39.13 % compared to the case without the the damping particle.
