Abstract

The Vehicle Ad-hoc Network (VANET) is part of the Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) that facilitates communication between vehicles to provide driver safety information, traffic status updates, data sharing, traffic congestion warning. Among them, clustering is an effective method to handle frequent changes in VANET topology by communicating between vehicle clusters and RSU stations. We introduce stable clustering based on multi-agent to provide stability, to improve cluster performance. The proposed approach uses a multi-agent interaction approach to establish communication between the vehicle clusters and the RSU.
The RSU is responsible for deciding on the cluster size and selecting the appropriate cluster head based on vehicle speed and connectivity with neighboring nodes. Here we change the cluster size depending on the vehicle speed, thus increasing the cluster lifetime and reducing the routing overhead. After the cluster is established, the cluster head will be selected. The proposed method is simulated in NS2 by considering some performance parameters such as vehicle speed, node density, cluster formation time, cluster head selection time, communication range.
