RESEARCH FOR SIMULATION ENGINE HYUNDAI CRDI D4FA WITH ON THE AVL-BOOST SOFTWARE

Abstract

The common-rail system is a highly flexible system for adapting fuel injection to the engine. This is achieved by: high injection pressure; injection pressure adapted to the operating status; variable start of injection; possibility of several pre-injection events and secondary injection events (even highly retarded secondary injection events). In this way, the common-rail system helps to raise specific power output, lower fuel consumption, reduce noise emission, and decrease pollutant emission in diesel engines. The article aims to build a model of the D4FA engine using common rail fuel injection on AVL-Boost software. The completed engine model can be used to analyze the effects of the priming, main and post-injection processes on the engine’s working characteristics.
